Voice

I've been thinking a lot about the notion of voice lately, as in the "voice" of an author when they write. How does one find one's voice? I've been writing sporadically for years; poetry, fiction, even the hated essay. Now, I want to write more, expand my horizons... but although I've heard myself my whole life, I don't really know what "I" sound like.

I've tried several false starts with this blog, all of them attempts at tackling issues that irked me. It didn't work, I rarely wrote anything, and none of it felt "right". So, a new start is in order. While I still don't expect to write frequently, I will be using this blog as a voice-finder, which means everything from random commentary to my horrible poetry.
